FHO Team is out - as are Brookes and Hickman
The FHO Racing Team and riders Josh Brookes and Peter Hickman have withdrawn from the North West 200 after what has been perceived to be a technical infringement with the use of carbon fibre wheels.
It appears the wheels are part of the homologated set-up of the bike.
Former NW200 winner Phillip McCallen told the BBC:
"It is massive disappointment. They are two top riders. Hickman was here to win and Brookes wanted on the rostrum as well. To lose them and their team is a very sad thing to happen.
"I don't really know what has happened."
He added:
"Maybe it could have been mentioned earlier. I am against rules being broken, but I think a little bit more looking into it would have worked. It is sad we have lost the team and those two riders."

BREAKING NEWS
Some breaking news.
Josh Brookes won't be riding in the Superstocks due to carbon fibre wheels on his bike, which apparently break the rules.
Brookes claims his team only discovered the illegality after qualifying, and his FHO team did not have time to find alternative wheels.
Bizarre situation but Brookes is out.
BBC also reporting this will impact on Brookes' teammate Peter Hickman who also races for the FHO Racing Team.

Seeley: 'We will learn from this race'
Alastair Seeley says the team will learn from that opening Supersport race ahead of Saturday's second running of the class.
He said:
"It wasn't for the lack of trying. It was a close race and we had a few out of the seat jobs.
"I got the lead on the last lap and tried to break, but the 600s are difficult to break away. The last lap was a bit frantic. I had a moment at University and then me and Michael ran each other deep at Metropole.
"It was mad into Black Hill, and I got the run on Richard Cooper heading into Juniper but wasn't close enough to Davey.
"But we got six good laps and we can make it better for Saturday."
Gareth Fullerton
Todd: "This win means a lot"
Davey Todd finished second four times last year.
Now he has a victory at the North West 200.
He said:
"Honestly, I was so worried. I wasn't riding right on Tuesday and the boys have worked flat out, changing the motor on the bike.
"They have worked so hard yesterday and today. They didn't eat yesterday. That means so much after all those seconds last year. I didn't want it to slip away.
(Video) NW200 Thursday evening race 2 - super stock - 11 May 2023"It was who was strongest on the brakes, and trying to get up the inside of them isn't easy. I am over the moon. That is a dream. That's nice.
"Yiou can't have a strategy in races like that. Yoiu don't know what's going to happen from corner to corner.
"I am not sure how I came out on top, but I gave that my all. I wanted that top step for me and all the boys.
"This means a lot. I have won here in the wet but I want to be a rider who can win all weather."
